Overview

A Cancel Receipt should be provided to the customer whenever a previously initiated remittance transfer is cancelled/reversed and a refund is due/processed. It serves as proof of cancellation and customer-facing confirmation of the refund.

How to implement

A Cancel Receipt must be displayed to the customer after a refund/cancellation is executed. The Customer must be able to print, save, or email the Refund Receipt before exiting the completed refund flow.

2	Your refund includes the transfer amount and, where refundable, the transfer fee and any taxes paid, each shown as a separate item on this receipt together with the total amount refunded. The receipt must show the total refund and its components as separate line items, and must expressly identify any fee, tax or FX-related component that is not refunded (for example, a cancellation made outside the full-refund window). A single-line display is acceptable where everything is refunded in full.
3	Your refund has been made to the payment method shown on this receipt. For card or account refunds, the time it takes for the funds to appear depends on your card issuer or financial institution. The receipt must state the refund method (cash, card, bank account or wallet) and, for card, account or wallet refunds, the masked card or account identifier (last 4 digits). Where the refund is paid by the agent (for example, in cash at the agent location), the receipt must identify the agent as the party that paid the refund — see the Refund Method block of the Receipt Example.

For white-label models, the partner's contact details may appear alongside MoneyGram's — see Common Principles (C4).
5	This cancellation relates to the transfer identified on this receipt by its original transaction reference number, original send date and original amount sent. The date and time of the cancellation are shown on this receipt.
